The PINCH delivers a new belaying experience: a versatile assisted-braking belay device for sport climbing, multi-pitch, and even rope access techniques. It’s the first device that can be attached directly to the central ring of your harness, keeping the system low and close to the body for better control and a clean rope path.
Because of its close-to-the-body position, you can keep a full, secure grip on the brake rope and it doesn’t need to be “fixed” in place while paying out. The compact setup also gives you a larger range of movement, making it possible to feed 20–30 cm more rope in one motion. Steel braking grooves guide the rope linearly, reducing tangles when lowering or abseiling and improving durability.
The anti-panic function adds safety by automatically locking if the lowering lever is pulled too far. For advanced users, it can be permanently deactivated with the supplied screw. A second braking tier also helps when belaying very light climbers or when rope friction is high. On multi-pitch belays, the PINCH can be attached to the anchor in four directions (90° increments), so the lever stays accessible no matter how the stance is built.
